Happy Friday to all. This post is simply a reminder that weekend activities do not need to be expensive to be fun. If you are in Southern California as we are, there are many activities in our great cities and counties that are nearly free to you. If you are not in Southern California, you should still be able to find these inexpensive activities near by. Usually, gas or parking may be the only costs incurred. Here are some ideas:
1. Take family and friends to the beach. State or city beaches are usually very inexpensive to park for the large part of the day. Bring your own food, drinks, and sunblock to keep the costs down. Learn to play in the waves and take walks down the beach through different beach cities and scenic points. Bring your bicycles to ride to down the boardwalks. You can ride from Huntington Beach to Newport Beach in a short breezy path.
2. Hiking in regional parks like Newport Coasts Crystal Cove or Peter’s Canyon in Tustin is always a great experience. There are different routes to take and plenty of great views to take in. Bring your own food and drinks because there won’t be any vendors around to spend money on.
3. Disneyland fireworks show is on every night at around 9:40pm. The tip here is that you don’t need to be inside Disneyland to see the fireworks. You can watch from the Downtown Disney area or the Anaheim Garden Walk. So, take a stroll outside Disney and catch the fireworks show for free.
